This volume of kritisk etnografi – Swedish Journal of Anthropology is a compilation of two issues. The first issue is themed Infrastructures and environments in late industrialism, under the leadership of the guest editors Chakad Ojani, Susann B. Ullberg, and Asta Vonderau. It focuses on exhausted infrastructures of late industrialism, its ruins and toxic landscapes, and places infrastructural ruins in an environmental landscape.
The second issue is Varia, that is, an open issue without any specific theme. It is a collection of four articles, and one report. Alisse Waterston’s Key Note “Improvising life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” at the SANT 2024 Conference in Uppsala is one of the four important papers published in this Varia.

kritisk etnografi – Swedish Journal of Anthropology is owned and published by the Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography (Svenska Sällskapet för Antropologi och Geografi). The journal is peer-reviewed, online, and publishes original research articles, as well as reports from Swedish anthropological community. It is open access: always, everywhere, and for everyone. kritisk etnografi aims to foster responsible scholarship with global scope, local relevance and public engagement.
